La Fortuna

Well we arrived in San Jose at 7am and we desided there wasnt much we wanted to do or see here. So we hopped on a public bus headed for La Fortuna.
The Bus ride took a little over 5 hours by passing some beautiful landscapes. We thought about getting off and taking pictures but we didnt know when the next bus would be. So we stuck it out by taking pictures from are Bus window.
Well im sure your all asking why La Fortuna? Well it sisters one of the most Active Volcanos in all of Costa Rica. Let me tell you it was AMAZING.
We arrived intown about 1:00pm and ate lunch at a local pub.
Then found a hotel. We took showers because we were getting a little ripe.
We then spoke with a few locals... i use the word ¨spoke¨ losely. Are spanish isnt up to par.
Well they told us to leave for the Volcano today and then relax after in a Hot springs. So that was are plan. We did just that.
We took a tour bus up to the edge of the Rain forest and Hiked 2miles to the face of the Volcano. I cant find the words to describe the lushious beauty. It was So Amazing! We saw Birds and Monkeys on the way up. I took lots of pics and when i can i will up load them for you all to see.
Well we stopped at this perfect view point. Its was so incredible. we just waited and Watched the Valcano eurupt and spit up was looked to be pebble sized rocks but in all reality they were more like Small car sized bolders. The noise i will never forget. It made this train like sound. You know when a train starts to take off and that sound. chug a chug chug, as the train builds momentum. louder and louder the Volcano did this until it erupted spilling out Gases and rocks. It was breath taking to see this first hand. We stayed until the sun went down. There was a lake close by and we took advantage of that through the sunset. We took some Brilliant photos. Well We hiked back down to our bus that awaited us and the driver took us to the Most Amazing hot springs we have ever been to.

We are off....

Well todays the Big day. We leave Boise headed for LA. Steph (Ty's girlfriend) took us to the Airport 5am... THANK YOU by the way! Drinks are on me when and if we come back..?. haha I'm sure we will... some day!?
Well we started off are great adventure together at the check in line at Boise's Airport. Ty had to check his bag and we had only 30mins to make it to our gate. We were next in line when we were approached by this lady that asked for are boarding passes. We kindly told her that we hadn't gotten one yet and we were just about to check in now. Well she told us that we couldn't do that at the counter. We must check in at the computers before hand. I couldn't believe this. So we had to go back to the end of the line and get are boarding passes and then check his bag. We then tryed jumping back in line with no luck. The line went quick and before we new it we were done & on our way to the plane. They were on the last boarding call and the gates were closing. We made it just in time.
We have a short 2hour flight and there Mike and Doug ( My Great friends from SoCal) will be picking us up at the airport around 7am. (Thanks Guys, I owe you one.... Im sure the LA traffic will suck!!)
We will spend the day visiting and hang'n out. Then fly out later tonight. 1155pm Next stop Costa Rica.....

What kind of lover am I?? A test i found on the net.

Your Seduction Style: Fantasy Lover
You know that ideal love that each of us dreams of from childhood? That's you!Not because you posess all of the ideal characteristics, but because you are a savvy shape shifter. You have the uncanny ability to detect someone's particular fantasy... and make it you.
You inspire each person to be an idealist and passionate, and you make each moment memorableEven a simple coffee date with you can be the most romantic moment of someone's lifeBy giving your date exactly what he or she desires, you quickly become the ideal lover.
Your abilities to make dreams come true is so strong, that you are often the love of many people's lives.Your ex's (and even people you have simply met or been friends with) long to be yours. No doubt you are the one others have dreamed of... your biggest challenge is finding *your* dream lover.
What kind of lover are you???

TRICK or TREAT???

Wow .. Halloween already... This year is just flying by.....
I really enjoy halloween, I like dressing up and going out. I have so much fun. Its great! Yet its different tho from when i was a kid. Now don't get me wrong, I loved it just as much as i do now, if not more... But for a child, its just that much more magical. Dont you think??.. and not do mention the best part... "FREE CANDY".... yum yum!!!
But now that I'm older, I cant really go trick or treating...... Or can I?? >:)
I think i have idea that will fix this problem....

Ok.. My idea

I need to rent a kid!! Thats right.. I need to rent a kid. Perferably a cute baby, around the age of ... i dont know lets say 8 or 9 months old. I'll put them in a Halloween costume and then out we go, trick or treating all night... This is great!
Think about it... The baby is to young to understand and really enjoy Halloween.. much less eat all that candy because of his or her lack of teeth.. and i get all the loot! and insted of people looking at me saying "Aren't you a little too old for this" .... people will say this "OH HOW CUTE!!... Here take Two".... haha
ok.. Now, I wouldnt really do this.for those of you reading this in pure shock... well i wouldnt use a real baby... j/k... haha

So the next time you open up your door to a trick or treater thats carrying a baby...Is he really trick or treating for the baby or himself.... you just think about it???

IQ Test

Your IQ Is 140
Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average
Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius
Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius
Your General Knowledge is Genius
Ok... I took this test about an hour ago, for fun... Since then I have retaken the test to try and change my "Logical Intelligence" score, With no luck. This can only mean one of two things.. The 1st. One would be me having to execpt the fact that "logically" Im below average from the rest of whom, who took this test... Or the 2nd Would involve me asking five friends to take the test and compare their results... So, I went with the second choice... All my friends Scored differently yet all scored "below average" on the logical intelligence... So what does this mean?? Am I infact "below average" from the rest of you? Are my friends Below average? Does this test work?
I guess i may never find out?
But I included the link anyway for you to try out... See what you come up with.

Why do all public bathroom doors open in?

Why do bathroom stall doors open in? Aren't they already small enough without making us shove our bodies against the dirty toilet we just spent all our effort to avoid touching, just so you can exit the thing towalk to the sink, which may, or may not, have soap and paper towels, and deffinatly has a nasty door handle we are going to try to open with our feet, legs, elbows, etc?
I hate public restrooms!!! But at least in not in China anymore. Those were & are the worst Bathrooms in the Whole World!

Inverness

Inverness, Scotland. We arrived around 5pm. Found a place to stay for the night. We went out for a bite to eat. Were we seemed to realize that the locals weren't to fond of us Americans. Dinner was a horrible experience. The waiter walked away from our table in the middle of Ryan ordering his dinner, to go seat someone else. No tip for this guy!
And everyone that knows me, knows that this is one of my biggest pet peeve's!!! One thing I hate more than anything is a horrible wait staff. It was a horrible dining experience. The food did finely make its way to our table after about 45mins, after we orderd it. Mine was chicken curry and Ryan's hummus and veg. curry.
I could have cooked it in 10min, max. I cant see how this place stays open. Infact I wrote in the log at our hotel stating not to dine in that restaurant.
The next morning we took off to LochNess.

Scotland

Ryan and I arrived just out side of Glasgow, Scotland. Mid day. We met a gentleman on the plane and we began a nice conversation with him. He took the same train into town as us. Where we encountered a man that was completely pist out of his mind. He kept telling us to shut up because he wanted to drink his beer in quite. Now its illegal to have open containers on any public transportation in Scotland. But this man didn't seem to care. Just that he wanted us to shut up. He was a funny old man. Because he kept talking to himself. He I think was louder than us. But the train stopped In Glasgow, near city center. It is a Beautiful city. The gentleman we met on the plane invited us to have a drink with him at a local pub. We didn't decline the offer. I cant remember the name of the pub but it was a small long space with the bar on the left hand side right when you enter. It was half full. Looked tobe all local fok. It had a good atmosphere. Ryan and I had a Guinness and the man had a double Jack and coke. We sat in the back and talked for a hout or so and parted ways. It was a nice way to start out in a new Country. We found a place to stay. A hostel and we stayed in the dorm room. It was a big room. And Ryan wasn't taking the thought of having to sleep with strangers very well. It made him a little uncomfortable. But the night went quickly. Ryan and I walked around to see the city. It was a little crazy. Lots of drunk footballers (soccer fans) out. but it was fine I felt comfortable. Ryan & I went to a pub and had a Beer.Talked over what we were to do in the morning. Then we went to bed. We woke up about 7am and took the city open bus tour. The trip lasted around 2 hours. This was fantastic!! We really got a good feel of the city. Its so beautiful. One of the nicest cities I've ever seen. I would definitely come back. We had lunch and then took a train to Perth. It was a nice city aswell not much to do we just had a stop over before our next train to Inverness. We walked the whole city in two hours. Then back on the train. Next stop LochNess!!!

A trip to stansted air port.

Hello friends,
Well I left off last with Ryan just arriving into Heathrow, London. We had a flight that left Stansted, England at 12:30pm. Three hours from now. It takes one hour to reach Stansted by bus from Heathrow. We reached our bus at 9:35am which already began to board. There was a cue of people loading there luggage. Ryan and I by-passed this because we only had small back packs on. (Yes, this was all of our luggage. We're men, and we don't need any more than that.) And besides Ryan is only traveling for 9 days.
The bus took off at 9:45 heading for the air port. It was the Express with no stops so I said to Ryan we should be fine and on time. Heading up the High-way, With Ryan excited, this being the first time he's seen another country with his own eyes. He intensely watched the picturesque scenery and watched the cars drive by when he Spots a new Bentley, Baby blue convertible. Brilliant!!! One of the most beautiful cars ever made.
So, he's really happy now. When about 15min. into this ride I hear a faint sound from the rear of the bus. I didn't think anything of it, until a girl from the back of the bus walked calmly to the Bus driver and whispered something to him. The Driver then pulled over on the side of the high-way. He opened the doors and walked out side. He walked to the back of the bus. I watched him from inside. Ryan asked "what's going on" when I saw that the back hatch that stored the luggage had become a Jar. Some where in the past 15 min. The luggage door had opened and littered the High-way with the passenger luggage. Oh sh*t I said. I told Ryan what I saw, when a few of the passenger became frantic. A few ran out side to see if there luggage was still there. The driver came back in to explain what had happened. He said that he was waiting for the Highway patrol officers to retrieve the lost luggage and return it to the bus. After 20 min. I went out side to explain our situation with our flight. He said we would be leaving in the matter of minutes. I agreed to return to my seat. 10 more mins. had past when the driver asked if anyone had a flight that left in the next few hours. a few people raised their hands including Ryan & I. He said that we would be leaving soon. The Police finely showed up with some of the missing stuff. But we were out of time, we had to leave now or we would miss our flight to Scotland. The driver told the passengers that we were going to leave without all the missing items. The police would take the remaining articles to the air port once retrieved.
We were off once again. We arrived to stansted at 11:37 the Gate closed at 11:45. So we even had a few minutes to spare.
Well so far I'm not too impressed with the way this trip is starting off. The bright side is, it can only get better from here on out.... Right???

Check back soon for more crazy adventures of Ryan and I in the U.K.

Off again!!!

Hey friends. Miss me? It's been a month since I've really updated my site.
Well sorry for that, but I needed a break. But here I am again.
This time I'm bringing a friend along to share the awesome adventures as I do. This should be awesome!!
Well today Ryan and I left on our awesome World Adventure. We rented a car and drove to Salt lake. We were faced with a huge snow storm. It was so crazy seeing this. Its been over a year since I've even seen snow. Well this freak blizzard seemed to vanish as we drove into the LDS capital of the world. Witch is S.L.C.
We meet up With Ryan's Cuz Jess and his wife Jessie. They were fantastic hosts. We dropped off our rental car and they took us out for drinks, dinner, & Pool.
And boy did they get us drunk... We had a wonderful visit!! Thank you both again for a fantastic night! It was a great way to start off this trip. If your ever in Boise I hope I can return the favor and treat you to a night out.
They took us to the air-port and we flew to L.A. Where Sarah & Natalie were waiting to pick us up. They took us back to there house. It was a slow night, Didn't do much. In the morning the Girls took us out. First we went to (Trader Joe's) so Ryan could buy some cliff bars. Then we drove to the pier and had lunch over looking the ocean. We then went on a drive to some old house's Sarah lived in when she was young. They were very nice. It was getting tobe about that time and the Girls had Night School so they couldn't take us to the Air-port. They dropped us off at Disney Land. We then took the Shuttle bus to the Air port.
Ryan and I had different flights. Mine was the first to leave. Ryan's left 13 hours later. I Arrived in London around 3pm on the 31st of March. Witch just so happens tobe my Birth day!
I wish I could now go on telling you how wonderful a night I had, With beautiful girls and lots of partying to the wee hours of the night. but I can not. Ya I know how lame that is.
Yours truly must be getting old, because I just wanted to get a bite to eat and pass out for the night. And that's what I did. I took the Express train to the center of London. I walked around for a few hours. Then I got a room and Feel a sleep. That's how my 23rd B-day was. Exciting I know.
Ryan's flight flew into heather at 7:30am and I was there waiting... But there was "NO" Ryan, I waited, and Waited but still no sign of him. Now you see this is Ryan's first time out of the country infact Im not sure if he's ever traveled by him-self before? I went to the Flight Info. desk, I asked if they could tell me if he had infact got on his Plane? I knew he had to switch planes @ JFK in New York. The man at the desk couldn't tell me anything helpful. It's about 830 and Im starting to worry. His plane arrived almost an hour ago. I didn't know what to do?
I just sat back and waited some more because there wasn't much more I could do. At 9am I see him. He was just walking out of the terminal. I was holding a sign with his name on it. He saw it and started his was towards me. We shook hands and I asked what had happened he begin telling me what happened. To make it short he waited in the wrong line through Customs and then he didn't feel out his arrival card right so the were giving him a hard time. But he made it out safe, and we didn't have a Minute to spare. We had a flight that left at 1230 from a different air port and it was about 930...

Cyclone season

Well today I awoke with some very interesting news. I was informed that I needed to rush to the market to buy 3 to 5 days with of food & water. Because Cyclone Nancy was about to hit. I wasn't to sure what to think about this news. When I arrived a few days ago I was told about Cyclone Meena that had hit on the 7th of Feb. This was a Class 5 cyclone. Cyclones have classification, they start at a class one, moving onward to a class 5 ++ is the worst.
You ask, what is a Cyclone? Is it like a Hurricane or a Typhoon?
Well Cyclones are large revolving tropical storms caused by winds blowing around a central area of low atmospheric pressure. In the southern hemisphere these tropical storms are called cyclones and rotate in a clockwise direction, while in the northern hemisphere cyclones are called hurricanes or typhoons and rotate in an anti-clockwise direction.
Cyclones develop over warm waters in the tropical regions created by air being heated by the sun. This causes the air to rise very rapidly and becomes saturated with moisture that condenses into large thunderclouds. Cool air rushes in to fill the void. The result of all this is a Cyclone.
Well by this time tomorrow I will be in my first cyclone.

I Left Middle Earth

Hi everyone,
Well a few days ago I left the beautiful land witch is New Zealand. I Never made it to the South Island. Spent a week in the north. Amazing! I'm already planning my return. I cant wait to explore more of "Middle Earth".
I flew into Rarotonga, in the Cook Islands. I arrived about 2:30 AM. I was taken to my hostel. About 7 miles from town, And 30 meters from the Beach.
I was taken to my room, located on the second floor. A small white walled 9 x 9, cinder block construction, with two twin beds and one window. This is what I called home for nearly two weeks. Nice!!
I shared this lovely sweet with a man named James. A really nice guy from England.
He's taking so time off to explore some South Pacific Islands over the next 6 weeks. He really just wants a tan.
Well the past few days have been great! The weather has been fantastic. Beautiful blue and sunny sky's. I'm going to love it here!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Hello everyone. Happy Valentine's Day!!! I wish you all had a wonderful day! Mine of course was amazing. You know the usual romantic day with Scottie Matthews, in New Zealand. Got up at 6am, picked up a Beautiful lady. Went for a hot air balloon ride. Had a pic nic at a remote park over looking a beautiful lake, Had a nice candle lit dinner, went for a walk in the park, looking at the stars. All in all a great V-day.---
Well that's what I would have liked to have done, if I wasn't so sick & the weather cleared up. I spent it in bed, alone. Oh-well, I always have next year!
Smile;
LOVE YA! TAKE CARE & HAVE A GREAT DAY, WEEK, MONTH, YEAR!

Kiwi Country.

Well a slight change of plans found me leaving the wonderful country that is Australia. After the last 2 months in the land down under, It was time for me to move on. All finished with a yummy dinner of kangaroo. Had to be done, and was soooo GOOD! So now i find myself in the country where flip flops are known as jandles, supermarket carts as trundles. Yes that sheep loving beautiful country that is New Zealand.
I arrived in auckland, and i had a great few days walking aroud the city. To tell you the truth, I didn't care for the city itself. But I enjoyed being some where new. So i set off slightly north to the coromandal region. BEAUTIFUL. Words cannot describe how beautiful the scenery is. Compared to oz where you can drive for a whole day without ever needing the brake or to turn the wheel very little to look out to see the world around you. Here in Kiwi country, its all windy roads alongside hills, trees, tiny towns, and lots of cows and sheep. Its only been a week but so far I have dug my feet into the sand at hot water beach to find boiling hot water underneath. I've done some amazing walks through some fantastic scenery near the Bay of Islands. Ventured to a very eggy smelling rotorua, due to all the sulphur at the "Geothermal wonderland"!
I Layed in a natural thermal pool where you couldn't put your head under water cos you can contract a kind of menigitis. Fun, fun, but it was hot and relaxing! I needed it because the weather has been horable. I haven't been able to take any good pic's yet. I've been to the land of the kiwi, where I climbed inside a giant kiwi fruit. That was weird- I felt like James & the Giant Peach. Went to a mud pool. Not as nice as the one in Fiji. The best bit thus far was the black water rafting in Waitomo. Situaited down a 35 meter deep cave. Then went on a zip rope across the cave in pitch black with glow worms lit up above me. I wish I had my camera. But this time I knew what I was getting my-self into. With water all around, I knew that wasn't a good idea. I have already broke one Mini Dv Video cam. & one T1 sony Digi cam. because of the water on this trip of wonderful adventures around the world. So I left it behind.

Well still in the cave. I had tea and biscuits with my feet hanging off a ledge into no-where. A little crazy if you think about it. I walked to a water front where I jumped off into a stream on a float-tube then floated down stream learning about the glowworms. Then I walked, stumbled and fell through the cave on foot, finally reaching a waterfall witch I climbed up. It was hard work but amazing fun. My Feet and hands have been killing me! My right knee gave out on me yesturday, and for about 8 hours I couldn't walk. I hate this crap. I give up on Doctors! Anyway back to my Adventures.
In the cave we had to wear a wetsuit, Shin high boots, & a pair of huge shorts and a hard hat with light. I was SEXY!!!! Sorry ladies but you will never see me in that- dang, I know. But when I get back we can all dress up like that one time for my 21st Birth-day. Wow- that was a great night!!! Thanks Girls for that b-day. I will never forget it. Nor will anyone that was invited!!
Anyway the day at the caves was amazing!!! And to top it off we finished with a dip in a hot tub that overlooked the hills and some sheep. beautiful and breathtaking, before retiring to my cabin for a good nights rest. I got atleast 5 hours. Great!
Today, I headed to taupo, famous for their skydiving and I'm booked in for tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed because the weather has been crap. Yesturday a plane went down. I will be ok. & i can't wait!! I'll jump 15,000 feet over the stunning lake taupo. yeeha! --- Don't worry Mom, I'm not going. I'm not that stupid. I just wanted to get a reaction form you all. In the movie world its called suspense. Smile. I love & miss you all!!!
I have a few more days in the north island before heading to the south Island. The next 6 weeks here are gonna fly by, I'm sure, as there's loads more action packed things to do. Like bungee jump from the worlds highest bungee spot. Cant wait!!! ; )
That's all for now. Check Back soon for more adventures of your favorite world traveler.

New Zealand

Hello everyone,
I did it. I sold my van when the wind was blowing & it took me to New Zealand. I'm in Auckland. This waterside city has a strong pulse and a nautical twinkle in its eye. Its located on a thin stretch of the North Island, which is surrounded by the Pacific on just about every side, and is complemented by the lush subtropical forests of the nearby hills and islands.
Auckland's tourist attractions are, unsurprisingly, based around all things maritime. But I've had enough of aquariums, I might go looking for dinosaur skeletons.? I will only be here a day or two. I will travel down south, to Wellington. Then I will hop on a Cruise heading to south Island. The South Island is what New Zealands known for. One of the Worlds most beautiful places. I cant wait!

Well my friends. I hope life's been good to you all. I miss you so much!! Smile & Take care. With love. Always!

"Is this pictures worth a thousand words"..

Well I guess not if your American....... I first found this sign in Brisbane. It was an advert at a near by bus stop. I have now seen it ten different times. In six cities. My first reaction was laughter. But what more can I do or say for that matter about this sign... Is it true? Is Lipton Ice tea really more refreshing than a quite American? Is this really what the rest of the world thinks about us? Just some food for thought, or drink in this case...... Scottie C. Matthews Posted by Hello

"Crossroads of Life"

WHAT NEXT??? Posted by Hello
I fell by the wayside,
I fell on my knees, Crying.
Why was I so hard to please?
I stood at the crossroads,
Took a long look at me.
Sometimes you don't know where you're from til you leave.
And I've been out there searching,
for a place where I belong......
And on my way, I heard my song.
Let it sing me home.
Sun on my shoulders and the wind at my back.
Bound and determined to get back on track!
To where the heart is,
Where it's been all along.
Sometimes you don't know what you've got til it's gone
Gone gone gone.
And I've been out there searching,
For a place where I belong.
And on my way I heard my song,
Let it sing me home.
And I've been out there searching,
For a place where I belong.
And on my way I heard my song
Let it sing me home!!

Merry Christmas & Happy new Years!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years Everyone!
I'm in Sydney haven a great time! I hope all of you had Wonderful Holidays! I spent Christmas Eve with a few friends @ the Gold Coast. Went to a Theme Park "Dream World". It was a lot of fun!! They had a Tiger Show with a White Tiger & three orange Tigers. This was pretty cool. I spent Christmas day in Brisbane, it was raining & I missed you all! So I was a little down : (
But I got better when I hit the road. I love driving the open roads of Austraila. So the "Beast" & I went on a road trip. We drove down the Coast, to Sydney, stopping a few times along the way. Just after passing "Taree", 300k or less than 200 miles, to Sydney. The Beast thought it was a good time to BLOW UP on me. Spiting out a Rod onto the hiway, literally!!!
So I was towed to a near by, one horse town. Not sure if its on the map. I couldn't find it ; ) I stayed a few days trying to sort out a few things.. ( Should I stay or should I go) I ended up leaving the Van Behind 4 a few days. It will be towed to Sydney on the 5th. of Jan. I need to buy a Whole new Engine. So Im stuck In Sydney 4 a while looking for work. So I can pay 4 all this mess. Smile.

Frasier Island My 4x4 Adventure

Frasier Island here we come. Jamie (The Crazy Scot's man) And I, left this morning for Rainbow Beach.
The "Beast" did very well for her first road trip. No problems. We arrived and went straight for the Pub to get a beer and a Bite to eat. We camped in the Van that night. It was good. It was HOT at about 5am so it was pretty uncomfortable sleeping in. We checked in at the hostel awaiting information on our Trip to Fraiser. We Were placed in a group with 7 others. We sat down introduced ourselves, and made a grocery list for the next few days. All in all everyone came to an agreement on what we should bring and what we could live without for a few days. Well there's always one, And No it wasn't me this time ;) It was a 4 foot 10 inch tall, 33 year old German lady. Little did I know then, that this lady was going to be such a handful and pain in everyone's rear. She had do Disagree with everything. The Food, The Places we went, How long we stayed, The weather... Everything. It drove everyone mad. But You would be proud, I just smiled and bit my lip. It was after all a beautiful place and I couldn't spend it listening to her. I had a Wonderful Time.
Now Fraser Island is the Worlds largest sand island stretching around 120km from north to south and 15km from east to west, covering a total of 160,000 hectares. It was formed during the ice age by strong winds which blew sand from New South Wales to where Fraser Island now stands off of the coast of Queensland.
The name Fraser Island cane from Eliza Fraser, who was shipwrecked on the island along with her husband. By the Aborigines the island is known as K'gari meaning 'Paradise', which suitably matches the islands beauty. The Aborigines were forced off of the island. Fraser Is full of beautiful Rain forested areas and Dunes. Fraser Island, it is now listed as a World Heritage area.
After a few hours on Fraser Island we knew why everyone was talking about their trip to this island. It's just awesome. The stuff you see and do is amazing. First of all. Surprisingly enough it was a lot fun being nine of us backpackers in one overcrowded Toyota Land Cruiser. Second you get to see some really Wonderful places. On the island there are a lot of small fresh water lakes. Take for an example Lake McKenzie, The Most Beautiful Lake I have ever seen!!! You are greeted with pure white sand and the prettiest Blue and green waters. The water is so clean and Clear you can drink it & swim with your eyes open! And The Girls... Wow! That's all I need to say. I'll say it again WOW!!!

All the lakes are on the southern part of the island and to go from the southern part to the northern tip, one has to drive on the islands only highway to get to the north. Which is also the islands only airstrip! This combined highway/airstrip is the islands east beach, so you drive on the beach for Miles... This makes for some interesting 4 WD driving when crossing the Washouts. The Little German was the scariest driver I have ever seen. I had to tell her she had to let someone else drive. We all took turns driving. I had a blast. I Drove for hours through the rainforest and on the beach. It seemed no one really knew how to drive over the terrain. Apart from Jamie, one Irish guy and Myself. The holes and washout made for a bumpy ride. Well when I wasn't driving that is. Smile. But really growing up in Idaho and driving our mountain roads really came in handy.
On the way up, on beach you pass the Maheno wreck, one of many ship wrecks on and around the island. This was really neat. I had a great time relaxing by the wreck. Just thinking about what amazing history this ship must have. What a great Adventure and then to end up here on this Breach.
Still traveling north along the beach we came to a dead end. The Look out point to all of Frasier. This is where Millions of people come to Whale watch. I didn't see a Whale but I saw a few Sea Turtles. This made me smile.

Well at the end of the day we set out to find a place to camp. We camped on the Beach. We set up the tents and Made dinner. The Girls made Dinner one night and I the other. Only hambugers and sausages. but still good I must say.
Well The Trip is coming to an end only a few Hours left.... When BAM! We got into Car Crash. Everyone was ok. Jamie was driving, We were going West to Lake Mckenzie for one last dip. It's such a beautiful lake we just had too, one last time. Well this French man driving a 4x4 going South east at about 30k's to fast. Hit us, head on. Luckily Jamie was a good driver. He hit the breaks and managed to almost stop our car before the other Car could hit. I was in one of the back seats . We were on a straight away approaching a blind corner when Bam.
The other car obtained most of the damage. Ours was fine. We stopped for a while got the drivers details and made sure everything was ok. We finished out the day. It was great. We drove the truck back to the ferry and then to the Car Rental shop. We told them what had happened. But they already knew. The French man had called hours before telling them the story... And that's what they got, a big fat story. The French man said it was our fault and that he had pulled over on the side of the road when Jamie hit him. We were shocked by this. Not only did the Guy admit it was his fault we have 9 witnesses to prove it. Not only that I took a few pics of the seen of the crash. Man I just must have known that this guy was going to pull something. Its to bad you cant seem to trust anyone these days.
Well I'm safe & sound. Jamie took off this morning for Sydney to spend Christmas with some friends and family of his. I will leave in a few hours traveling north to go sailing through the Great Barrier reef and the Whitsundays. I'm so excited.

Check back soon for more Adventures of me.

I HAVE A PHONE!!!

That's right I finally got around to setting up my Phone. You can call me any time you like. But If you do. I would suggest you calling from a land line using a phone card. I have no clue as to what it would cost to call OZ. But I'm worth it, ain't I ??? Smile. I love you all!
My Cell Number is ( 04 24 62 98 23 ) but If your calling me from out side of OZ. You need to Dial the Country Code first. That's 61. and you then drop the zero at the beginning of my #.
So Call.....
61-4 24 62 98 23.
That should do it.
Keep intouch.
Your favorite world traveler.

Oh yah Text messages are cheaper for you and I both. And I can get as many as you want to send.

On the beach at Ko Somet…
I booked a 5 star hotel and laid back on beach, walked around, & I took a kayak out to some remote beaches and surrounding areas to see other parts of the island.
On the third day, it poured unlike any rain I've ever seen. It was Amazing. Inches in the matter of miniutes. I stood on my Balcony, watching it rain for hours. This was wonderful!!!
I did this for Four days & nights.

THAILAND... The Land of Smiles

Well I flew into Thailand today. City, Bangkok. I stayed in a small but nice hotel. Just out-side the city center on Sukhumvit Road.

A walk down Sukhumvit Rd...
By day or by night, nowhere else has sights, sounds and aromas more distinctive than Bangkok's Sukhumvit Road. It has an arrange of colors and textures that I've never found anywhere else in all my years. You can find everything here. A mixture of both rich and poor. You can shop you heart out at the best stores, eat at the nicest restaurants or chill out with the locals. At the side street vendors selling food, Fake hand bags To sex.
That's right. SEX. Prostitutes are every where. Day or night. If you want it and have the money you can get it in Thailand.... Probaly not to mention every STD out there!!! Happy Shopping!
It was crazy my first night in Bangkok. I went for a walk, to find a nice place to eat dinner. When out of the Blue these three Girls where grabbing me. Telling me that I had to go with them. They thought I was the HOTTEST Guy they had ever seen..They said some other things, but would rather not repeat.. ; ) I just laughed and walked off. It hit me a minute later & I was a little surprised. I was just hit on by 3 Hookers. After dinner, I payed closer attention to the Street life. And It seemed all I saw, was what looked tobe.... Hundreds of white men with Thai girls. Every man I saw, was holding on tightly to a Thai. Now I cant say all these girls were prostitutes. But I'm sure most were. I guess I now know why the call Thailand "The Land of smiles"........
I read this Quote on a bulletin Board on my Second day in Bangkok.

"The Thai people are no more permissive than any other nationality, it's just that they're just more pragmatic than most. There are many who would prefer the sex industry to be more subtle. However to cover it up, or worse deny that the industry exists (in any country) is an invitation to things far more sinister.
The truth is that there is probably no higher a percentage of women involved in the sex industry in Thailand as there is anywhere in the western world. The difference being, the concentration of this activity in or around Bangkok, which (perhaps) creates a false impression. It's time that ignorant foreign tourists stopped assuming that all Thai women are predisposed to employment in the sex industry, at the same time showing some respect for those who do."

Well call me old fashion. But I prefer falling in love First!
So to all you single girls out there. See there is still a good guys left. .but.. I'm just 25,000 miles away. But don't you worry. I will be back soon enough.

Smile.

Back to Shopping, .... Like I said before, you can find everything here. & its all pretty cheap. Food to Clothes. I had a Custom tailored 3 piece pin stripped suit made for me, for just under 150 usd. I picked the best material in the store, and went in for three fittings. to make sure it was just right. The suit would have cost $1,000 atleast back home.

Well I love and Miss you all. I will talk to you all soon.

"BITTER SWEET"

Hey Everyone,
I did it... I made it out of China Alive.
And I had a blast! The time of my life, if you will!!..... Well unfortunately No, I'm Sorry that was a Lie. China was crazy. I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to leave the Communist country! The way of life is so unlike anything else I've encountered before it. No one has any respect for anything... They Litter and spit every where. Its the dirtiest country I have ever seen. They have all this Beauty and amazing History and yet they spit on it, Literary. It made me sick to see this. I just don't understand? Well I haven't written On the Site for weeks now... Miss Me? Ya I know you did!!! I have tons of Stories, so get ready......

Anyway, now that I said China's Crap, Not so sure I will get out of Asia alive. Because the Government monitors the inter-net over here... Even the phone calls. Well from China for sure!!! That's why I couldn't post anything on my web-site. I couldn't even view it from China. I didn't receive half of the e-mails you all said you sent me.... I couldn't believe it when I first found out.
I have almost been arrested twice, thus far. No joke! I don't even know what I did wrong. I think Its because I'm white and American. I can thank "Bush" for that one! People hate him over here... Every-thing you see is "Bush" - "Kerry" & the "War". The news is Fake. Catered to making America Look bad and China Great. But I talked to a few Chinese people about this and they say they know that the News is fake and the pay no attention to it.. Read it for laughs. That's mostly why the Internet is Censored over here.. They have Over 30 thousand People in Beijing alone Monitoring the net.. Not sure how many listening to phone calls. I was talking to a Women .That was staying in my Hotel. She was born in China she moved at 18 to the U.S. got her P.H.D. at Berkeley. And she Moved back to China 17 Years ago. Shies 68 Now. She told me tons about China, And some of its Dark secrets... She is writing a book about the corrupt way of life in China. The Government has put her in Jail Twice.. She was very luck to get out alive. But its these conspires that make you take a long hard look at what We Americans really have... And that's "Freedom"! So if this trip has done anything, its made me believe that America is one of the Greatest Countries In the Whole World!!! I'm Proud to be an American.... (Well I haven't been to Australia or New Zealand yet... And I hear the girls are wonderful.......)

And I can't tell you how many times I've been asked Bush or Kerry? Strange people off the street... Most cant speak a word of English more than that.... I mean give me a Break, I'm half way around the World. It has nothing to do with me. But that's the BIG PROBLEM over here. Everyone thinks you (the Traveler) Has this big roll in the fate and out come to all of America. As if I'm this Important Government official.... Yah right, "Me" With this huge back-pack on... Walking down the streets in China...... Laugh....
Well back to the part when I almost got arrested.....These cops were yelling at me... I just got done sending everyone a bulk e-mail. (My second day In China I might add, They really no how to make you feel welcome over here.) I was just standing there on the side of the street. Taking it all in. With a deep breath saying to my-self "I'm In China, Wow."
I was out side of this inter-net cafe. These cops came up to me, they had wooden baton's w/ what looked Tobe metal at the head of them. They were waving them around my head. This was just out side of the forbidden city, right next to Tian'anmen square.
The second time I was out late walking down the street. A little drunk. I just left the bar. I had to walk 2 blocks to my Hotel. I heard yelling then two guys started running down the street. I was walking towards the place where they were standing... I saw this old vendor news stand tipped on its side.. this guy picking up the stuff, then a girl walked over to me, I stopped, she was cute or I was really drunk... Who cares right? Anyway. She had a un-lit cigarette... She started speaking in Chinese to me I shook my head.. Said "I don't speak Chinese" She took the Cigarette and motioned that she need a light... I shrugged my shoulders... No light. Then these guys came running up to me.. One taped me from behind.. They were in uniform... (Cops) I said what? to the one that taped me... He pointed back to the guy @ the vendor... I said i don't know?.. They were just yelling at me. Every one yells in China... The girl started to yell at the cops then at me... I have no clue as to what just happened but I got the Heck out of there.. Left for Xi'an the next morning.
Crazy days.
I saw the Terracotta warriors there... Impressive! I had a good couple of days In Xi'an. & I met some great people aswell.
From there I took a ship to see the Three Gorges, last week & the boat almost sunk. (No worries tho.. They had a crew emptying the water by hand, Or should I say by buckets..)
The toilets In China are 10 time worse than the worst toilet in all of England from the movie "Train Spotting"... Remember that part in the movie.. Well no joke the toilets are just a hole in the ground... Even at 3 star hotels. I have to go to a 5 star hotel to use a proper toilet. Oh ya the best part you have to bring your own toilet paper... And if you forget... your (S.O.L.)................
And the food is ...? Interesting to say the least.... Not like the Chinese food back home, that's for sure. I miss it so much! I miss real food.&.. Bread! Oh how I miss Bread... I'm sure I've had cat, rat & dog... Who knows what else..??? But when in doubt its Chicken .. Right? I eat fast food every time I can.. And that in it-self is bad. I willingly ate a scorpion.. That was crazy! It taste like Peanut shells... Salty and Crunchy.. No distinct taste.... I booked a bus to Shanghai. Only a 6 hour trip from the National Forest and Park... Instead the bus took me on an 18 hour Adventure ( it took that long because the driver decided to pull over in-front of a overpass and sleep for 10 hours... I couldn't believe my eyes.. I couldn't leave. I had know idea where I was. And even if I was able to get a taxi. I couldn't tell him where to go..Dam language barrier. So my over night adventure ended @ 1:30pm on the 6th. of November. Now I'm in Shanghai. well come to find out I was 400 miles away... F*ck!!!!!! The guy that booked all of this. Just put to geather a slap-ass package and wrote in English every thing I thought I was buying. None of it was right.. I paid for a Nice hotel..Got a horrible Dorm room, I paid for a soft sleeper on a train.. got a hard seat, Paid for all entry fees to parks and cars, trams ext... But received none of this... Get the picture... I got ripped off. Oh well? What can I do about it. It only set me back 2300 yuan, About $230 USD. Besides it make a good Story.
So I got to see the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River. and Zhangjiajie National Forest.& Park.. The Weather @ the Gorges was horrible. I couldn't really make any of it out. I saw the worlds Largest Dam "The Three Gorge Dam" on the Yangtze River..(It is the largest engineering project on the face of the earth!!! and the most controversial. It aims to tame the mother of all floods, the Yangtze River, and generate 84 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity a year - enough to power much of eastern and central China. But the cost is great... 80 billion thus far... and its not finished until 2009.) But we didn't get there until 11 at night, It was to dark to appreciate. But I took a picture anyway. You cant really make it out... Oh well.
I went to the "Zhangjiajie" National Forest & Park.. Stunning!!! One of China's most beautiful nature reserves, Zhangjiajie has wonderful hiking trails in a serene environment of staggering natural beauty. Its China's 1st. National forest park. Covering 13 sq km, the park is known for it's unique landscape with lush forests dominated by quartzite sandstone pillars. Bubbling brooks and charming lakes and giant caves. (And its Steps... I walked 11,368 plus steps. In 3 days.) If I never see another step in my live it will be to soon. The park was Great For the first few hours or so while I was there.. Then the weather turned for the worse on my first day. Fog and Rain.. Couldn't see anything. That night I asked god for a break.. and you know what? The weather cleared up.. I got some great Pictures and Video... Well until My camera bag fell into the River! I swear... What the fuck? I have to have the worst luck in the world... I give up.. I just laughed. Whats the point in getting up set any more? It does me no good! I had the camera in my hand, Luckily. But my video camera Got wet. I jumped in after it.. I caught up to it. But I think Its broke. I wont no until it drys out completely.. That could take days or weeks.???I hope my travelers insurance covers it!?! I don't get it? What is God trying to tell me? It seems everything I do, it goes wrong. Everything!! You say its not God.. Well if its the Devil.. he sure like fucking with me... that for sure!!!!!!!!!!
Well I'm in Singapore, @ the airport.. I have to go for now Because Beautiful Babes & Beaches await me in Thai land. I can't wait!!!! over a month in Paradise! And Its Cheap!!!!!! Did anyone say Custom suits????
Smile everyone. I love and miss you all so much!

"City of Chocolate"

Well I have traveled far and wide on this Odyssey of great adventure..To Find What ?? To find the Sweetest place on Earth... A Sin City, if you will... "The City of Chocolate!"...And I found it in Italy.. Perugia, is the name of the city.. Just a hour or so train ride from Roma.
And so you're wondering...what is there to do here?
Let's just say... "Indulge your-self" ...

Imagine waking up every morning in a place so sweet that it smells of "Hot Coco" when you walk out your front door... I have the last 2 nights.. "deliciously wonderful". And when you are finished here, you can go home, Full, happier, .&. 10 - 15 lbs. Heavier.... Smile!
Your all probably saying, Scottie;"Eating all that Chocolate can't be good for you"... Well, Did you know Chocolate Is A Vegetable?... Bare with me here.....
Chocolate is a vegetable! How you ask?
Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Right? Bean = vegetable.
Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the "Vegetable" category....... I think im on to something here.......
Thus, chocolate is a vegetable!!!
To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain, milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a "Health" food. !!
! "Im loving this!"
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you eat less.
If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge.
Calories are afraid of heights.......... Smile.
Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger!
Therefore, you need to eat more chocolate if you want to look young forever like me.
Put
"Eat Chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today.
That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
If you can't eat all of your chocolate today, Store it in the freezer, it will stay good for months.
But if you can't eat all of your chocolate, what's wrong with you?
If not for chocolate, People would be less happy..... You probaly Know that Chocolate Makes us feel good! but do you know why?
This is because Chocolate contains a natural 'love drug'. Called, Tryptophan this is a chemical that the brain uses to make a neurotransmitter called "Serotonin". High levels of serotonin can produce feelings of elation, even "ecstasy" - hence the name of the designer drug that also works by increasing serotonin levels. While tryptophan could be considered 'chocolate's ecstasy', another chemical called phenylethylamine has earned the nickname 'chocolate amphetamine.' High levels of this neurotransmitter help promote feelings of attraction, excitement, giddiness and apprehension. Phenylethylamine works by stimulating the brain's pleasure centres and reaches peak levels during orgasm. ..... Thats good to know!
I got most of this info. from the web site....
BBC - Science & Nature - Hot Topics - Chocolate ... I had the day to kill and thought it was interesting.... Have A "Sweet" day.
Love Scottie C. Matthews.

Over-looking Florence

My trusty steed and I, Over looking Florence. Isn't it Magnificent! ..... And the Views not bad either... Smile Posted by Hello

Biking Tuscany

What Tuscany held in store for me. Well there is just to much to see & my feet couldn't take it.
I needed something more! But What?? A BIKE. Perfect!
As I departed on my new bicycle I was immediately presented with a gentle downhill slope, Leaving Florence. Which allowed me to relax and enjoy the multicolored countryside and quaint villas. Wine country all around... (Amazing, to say the least!)
The Tuscan landscape is quite interesting. The towns are all built on the tops of hills, while the valleys and plains are used for farming. So when you travel from town to town, you are naturally traveling from hilltop to hilltop. Very exusting. I started and Ended my trip in Florence.
The entire city of Florence is a work of art. Don't miss it if you get a chance. I spent two full days in Florence (Firenze). The cathedral and surrounding area is so Unbelievably Beautiful!!

The Taxi Cab from HELL!!!

I left Rome on Monday The 4th. for Napoli. I arrived into town late at night. Nothing was open. I took a taxi to a Hostel. I asked the driver how much? He just smiled. The train station was in a bad area. As most are. I didn't want to walk around looking for a place to sleep. With all my stuff on my back. ( An Invite, saying Hey everyone Im not from around here, Rob me please.)
I had to make one stop, I needed money. I had him (the cabi) drop me off at a ATM. He looked like he was in the Mob. He wouldn't speak to me. After the bank. We drove down the street.. Which looks more like a Back alley. He was driving about 40mph to fast. I'm not sure how fast we were going, but to Damb fast!!! Maybe 70mph.
This crazy S.O.B. was weaving in & out of traffic. If our side was stopped by traffic, he would drive on the other side of the road. Cars coming right @ us. I asked him to slow down. He would just nod his head. I would shake my hands in a downward motion. He would smile and go faster. This guy was crazy. !! Then it seemed as if we were going way out of the way. We had been driving for 10 min or so. He would point out-side the window, Say sometime in Italian. (not sure what.. He was going to fast to see anything. and I couldn't understand him.)
I kept asking him to stop. I wanted out. Then finally he stopped at the bottom of this hill, next to this train depot. I was pissed. I could have took the train here. He kept asking for his money. 50euro I was 'not about to pay that. He was getting upset with me. He wouldn't give me my bags. I didn't want to pay that much money. I told him I wouldn't pay more that 20. Now his English got better. ...... Anyway, I ended up paying 30. And I had to walk up this hill (about 1/2 mile) to my Hostel.... That was a real sh*t-hole place... But I'm in Italy, And I have to take the good with the bad. Im Ok and Safe.. I'm In Florance.. I will be here for a few days.. Then????
You'll all have to come back to see .. "Where in the would is Scottie Matthews." Up date soon.

My second night in fiji. Just sitting back in my hammock, relaxing. Watching the sun burn out. My camera in one hand a drink in the other...One with one of those little umbrellas in it. This is what Fiji's all about!!! Posted by Hello

Resting after a 5k treck thro the rain forest of south Fiji. I still have 5k left. I will have walked 10k before the days end. Down to the river front, where I had lunch, rafted to a double water fall, went clif jumping, and long boated back to my bus. This was my best day thus far In Fiji.  Posted by Hello
